ABOUT US

Supporting immigrants and refugees in the Quinte Region since 1986.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

QUIS recognizes that we reside and work on the traditional, unceded lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabewaki, Mississauga, and Wendake-Nionwentsïo peoples and in proximity to Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. We recognize the contributions of Indigenous peoples to our diverse community and hope to help make the Quinte area more welcoming to people of all backgrounds and identities.

OUR MISSION

Quinte Immigration Services will assist immigrants and refugees isolated by cultural and language barriers in the Quinte region through the process of orientation and settlement while encouraging public respect for the diversity of immigrants, the promotion and recognition of the value of racial and cultural differences, and the facilitation of integration and participation of newcomers into the social, economic and cultural aspects of the community.

WHAT ARE SETTLEMENT SERVICES?

Settlement services are provided to immigrants and refugees across the country to assist with various aspects of daily life and support their journey as they settle in Canada. Whether you have recently arrived or have lived in Canada for a while, you can access these services often free of charge and always in a confidential manner. Settlement agencies are also called newcomer services or immigrant & refugee-serving agencies.

Central Eastern Ontario Translation & Interpretation Services (CEOTIS), a division of QUIS, offers fee-for-service interpretations and translation of documents in multiple languages. For more information, please reach out to 1-888-968-1065 or ceotis@quinteimmigration.ca or visit https://www.ceotis.ca
