CEOTIS – Central Eastern Ontario Translation and Interpretation Services is housed at Quinte Immigration Services in Belleville. Our agency has provided precise, immediate, accurate and confidential linguistic translation and interpretation services to a large number of agencies, businesses and individuals for over 10 years. We are pleased to provide an improved link between human service professionals and limited-English speakers in over 125 languages.

We service the region from Lindsay to Brockville, Ontario for both translations and interpretations.

Interpretation is the act of providing oral translation between or amongst speakers who speak different languages. An interpreter can be booked to facilitate your communication with a person/client who speaks limited English.

HOW TO ACCESS INTERPRETATION SERVICES

Hours of Operation: 

You can access interpretation services from 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday, excluding holidays. After hours interpretations can be scheduled with advanced notice. To schedule an interpreter please call 1-888-968-1065 or 613-968-1065 (in the Quinte area).

Cancellation Policy: 

Please provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, in the event that you no longer require the scheduled service of a language interpreter. 

Rates and Interpretation Options

  • Face-to-face: the interpreter will come to the service provider’s location$ 65.00/hour + HST (2 hour minimum)
  • After Hours Rate: $75 per hour (with a 2 hour minimum) between 8pm and 8am
  • Statutory Holidays Rate – $75 per hour (with a 2 hour minimum) (New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanks Giving, Christmas Day & Boxing Day)

***Additional charges for travel time and mileage may apply***

If travel expenses apply, the cost will be as follows:

Mileage @ $0.60 per K/M (if mileage is 50 K/M or higher round trip for the interpreter to travel)

Travel Time @ $32.50 per hour (if mileage applies)

Video Interpretation

  • Video calls can be conducted by Skype, Zoom, or other video platform arranged by the requesting agency/individual $65.00 per hour + HST (1 hour minimum)
  • After Hours Rate – $75 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) between 8pm and 8am
  • Statutory Holidays Rate – $75 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) (New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanks Giving, Christmas Day & Boxing Day)

Teleconference

  • The interpreter will place a call to the service provider and limited-English-speaker at requested location $ 65.00/half hour + HST (1 hour minimum)
  • After Hours Rate – $75 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) Between 8pm and 8am
  • Statutory Holidays Rate – $75 per hour (with a 1 hour minimum) (New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanks Giving, Christmas Day & Boxing Day)

Message Relay

The interpreter will deliver an informational message directly to the limited-English-speaker (service provider does not have to be present)
